During my internship at the Indiana Alumni Magazine, the then-editor in chief approached me to write a cover story, an honor not usually granted to interns. The topic: highlighting the impact that the millions of dollars raised in the Indiana University Dance Marathon had on the patients and families of Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. The issue was distributed to the magazine's 600,000+ global subscribers.
